Today, I was resting in our garden with the cat. The weather was lovely and I had such a pleasant time, lying on the bench reading. I practiced French and then went to the store to buy my weekly supply of work-treats! I took 5 big freezer bags, labeled them according to the days of the week, and put all of my treats in them. This way I won’t have to go the expensive stores downtown.
We also went to the garden and watered the plants. This week I made ravioli with saffron cream sauce but modified the recipe a bit:
Sauté 1 shallot with salt&pepper, butter, and saffron threads
Add 1/2 cup wine and bring to a boil
stir in 1 cup cream
I’d like to make it with homemade ravioli of leeks, prawns, and some crab. That would be a great entertaining dish, but so much preparation!
