
Pouding Chomeur
Syrup
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1 1/2 AP flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Combine all syrup ingredients in a pot until all is melted.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, adding the eggs one at a time.
Add the buttermilk mixture and dry ingredients intermittently, beginning and ending with dry.
Transfer the batter into a pan, and pour the syrup over it, blocking the stream with a spoon.
Bake on 350F for 45min. Let sit for several hours before serving so that the syrup will thicken.
